JSC "Uzmetkombinat" – One of the First Metallurgical Enterprises in Central Asia and a Key Strategic Sector of the Country's Economy

The enterprise produces various types of metal products that meet international quality standards and supplies them to both domestic and foreign markets.

HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

The construction of the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant began in 1942 through a nationwide initiative.

On March 5, 1944, the first batch of steel was produced in Open Hearth Furnace No. 1. This date is recognized as the official founding day of the enterprise.

In 1946, Rolling Mill No. 1 was launched, in 1974, the production of enameled steelware began, in 1978, the Electric Steelmaking Shop was commissioned, and in 1984, Rolling Mill No. 2 was put into operation.

In 1994, according to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant, the Shirin Machine-Building Plant, and the "Ikkilamchi Qora Metall" self-financing management were merged into the Joint-Stock Production Association "Uzmetkombinat."

Throughout its history, the plant has made a significant contribution to the development of the country’s metallurgical industry. Special attention is given to the introduction of new technologies, modernization, automation of production processes, and improvement of product quality.

Today, JSC "Uzmetkombinat" is a modern enterprise with advanced production facilities, innovative approaches, and strong partnerships in international markets.

AREAS OF ACTIVITY

The enterprise operates in the following key areas:

Production of rolled steel and grinding steel balls;
Production of non-ferrous metals and metal products;
Production of ferroalloys;
Production of thermal insulation materials;
Production of consumer goods (enameled steelware);
Production of gaseous and liquid argon, nitrogen, and oxygen;
Production of high-resistance coke.

Additionally, the enterprise is engaged in:

Domestic and international trade – supplying metal products across Uzbekistan and exporting to near and far-abroad countries;
Implementation of innovative technologies – automation of production processes using modern energy-saving equipment;
Environmental safety and sustainable development – implementing measures to protect the environment and introducing eco-friendly technologies.
