Together, we will fight corruption!

31.01.2025 31.01.2025 401

Corruption is not just a crime or offense but also a state of moral decay. This vice changes the essence of administrative relations between citizens and state representatives, leading to negative consequences for both society and the state. Many countries have faced crises due to such consequences, as history shows.

After President Sh. Mirziyoyev came to power, one of the first normative documents adopted in 2017 was the Law "On Combating Corruption." Since then, consistent measures have been taken in our country to establish a system based on advanced international standards aimed at preventing and combating corruption.

In recent years, a series of necessary steps have been taken to raise public legal awareness and legal culture in the fight against corruption. This is necessary because every citizen should understand the laws well, especially the legal consequences of actions related to corruption. Ignorance of the law and lack of knowledge about its content does not allow a person who commits a corruption crime to avoid punishment. Both those who take bribes, those who give bribes, and intermediaries in giving and receiving bribes are subject to inevitable criminal liability. These are the requirements of the law.

Combating corruption cannot be achieved only with the power of the state and government. Therefore, the entire society and all citizens must stand up against this social evil.

As the President stated, "In the fight against corruption, all segments of the population and the best specialists must be involved. Until all members of our society are 'vaccinated with honesty,' we will not achieve the high goals we have set. We must transition from fighting the consequences of corruption to preventing it."

In this process, "Uzmetkombinat" is implementing several measures. Systematic measures are being implemented in our company to establish an uncompromising stance against corruption. We are actively introducing mechanisms aimed at ensuring transparency and openness, increasing accountability, reducing bureaucracy, simplifying government services, and preventing corruption. Specifically, effectiveness evaluation systems and compliance have been implemented. The process of state procurement has been fully digitized.

Dear metallurgists! In the fight against corruption and bribery, each of us must participate actively. In every situation where we face a problem, when we witness irresponsibility or greed from responsible individuals, we must not remain silent, tolerate, or give in, but rather bring attention to the situation.

After all, fighting corruption is the sacred duty of every decent person and democratic society.

Akmal Sharipov,
Deputy Chairman of the Board of "O'zmetkombinat" JSC – Director for General Affairs.
