About the Press Service of JSC "Uzmetkombinat"

In accordance with the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to ensure the independence of mass media and develop the activities of information services of state bodies and organizations" dated June 27, 2019, a Press Service was established at the Joint-Stock Company "Uzmetkombinat." It operates under the direct supervision of the Chairman of the Board and the General Director of the enterprise.

Functions of the Information Service:

Providing regular, comprehensive, and prompt information to the public about the activities of JSC "Uzmetkombinat" through mass media, social networks, the official website, and other information platforms. This includes organizing press conferences, briefings, and media tours.
Developing and implementing measures to inform and highlight the socio-political and socio-economic development processes in the country as they relate to JSC "Uzmetkombinat."
Shaping and promoting a positive image of JSC "Uzmetkombinat" through social surveys and other methods of public opinion research.
Establishing effective practical interaction with the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan to fulfill the assigned tasks in the field of information policy.
Forming an expert group to effectively interact with mass media, disseminate timely information, and ensure the participation of journalists, bloggers, and the general public in discussions of draft regulatory legal acts.
Regularly organizing media appearances for the management of JSC "Uzmetkombinat."
Monitoring and analyzing the information space, promptly responding to critical and widely discussed information attacks, and disseminating information related to JSC "Uzmetkombinat" in mass media and on the Internet.
Preparing informational and analytical materials in collaboration with JSC "Uzmetkombinat" for dissemination in domestic and international mass media.
Studying public opinion and the positions of national and international mass media on the activities of JSC "Uzmetkombinat," offering relevant proposals, and informing the management accordingly.
Providing informational materials to diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad and foreign diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan to ensure quality coverage of JSC "Uzmetkombinat" in foreign mass media.
Publishing drafts of regulatory legal acts under JSC "Uzmetkombinat" and their approved texts on the official website.
Maintaining and updating a database of text, photo, audio, and video materials related to the activities of JSC "Uzmetkombinat."

Legacy of Information Services:

The Information Service of the enterprise includes the long-standing newspapers Metallurg Minbari and Za Metall. The first issue of Za Metall was published on April 27, 1943, during the peak of the factory’s construction. Initially, the newspapers were printed bilingually in Uzbek and Russian. Over time, both pages of the newspapers transitioned to Russian to meet evolving needs. After Uzbekistan gained independence, the Uzbek-language newspaper Metallurg Minbari was launched on March 7, 1992. Until 2022, the newspapers were issued in various formats, and the editors continue to ensure they remain engaging and relevant for readers.

Current Activities:

The Information Service also operates through the official website www.uzbeksteel.uz and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, and YouTube. It adheres to the highest standards and principles of professional journalism: objectivity, reliability, and neutrality.
