At the beginning of last year, I went on maternity leave. However, due to family circumstances, I returned to work after six months. But balancing work and childcare turned out to be challenging. Can I go back on maternity leave again?
A. Salimova

According to Article 405 of the Labor Code, after the end of maternity leave, at the woman's request, she is granted childcare leave until the child turns two years old. During this period, an allowance is paid as determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the woman's request, additional unpaid leave for childcare can also be granted until the child reaches the age of three. During such leave, the employee's job position (title) is preserved. These leaves, for a total of up to six years, are counted towards work experience, including professional experience.

If you returned to work after maternity leave and have worked for some time, you are entitled to write a request and go back on childcare leave at your discretion. This leave is provided at the employee's request and can be used at any time until the child turns three years old. Therefore, you can confidently write an application and go on leave. No one has the right to terminate your employment during this period.
