Cooking is also an art.

There are professions whose work seems insignificant and sometimes even goes unnoticed. The profession of today's hero is well known to all of us. These are the people who are always working to prepare delicious meals – chefs.

Zokirjon Ro‘ziqulov dreamed of becoming a chef since childhood. After finishing school, he entered a vocational school and obtained a diploma. Since 1992, he has been working at the Catering Combine, initially as a cook and later as a head chef.

In our conversation, he shared his thoughts:
– Cooking is also an art. A chef doesn’t just prepare food to satisfy hunger; they put their heart into it, striving to create a masterpiece that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also beneficial for health. Over the years, I have learned a lot from my mentors. When studying Uzbek national cuisine, my teacher Karim To‘ychiyev gave me invaluable lessons.

– The greatest joy for a chef is when their dish pleases the customers. This profession is very demanding. From early morning, we stand on our feet, working with knives, fire, and boiling oil. But all the fatigue and hardship disappear when we hear the words, "I really liked your dish," filling our hearts with happiness.

Zokirjon Ro‘ziqulov, a fifth-category head chef, is currently working as the head chef at Canteen No. 1 of the Rolling Mill Department. His team serves more than 400 metallurgists daily, preparing lunch, dinner, and night meals, along with confectionery products. Over his 33-year career, he has trained more than 10 apprentices, becoming a respected mentor and receiving numerous honorary certificates and letters of appreciation.
