Joint-Stock Company "Uzmetkombinat" is the leading enterprise of ferrous metallurgy in the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the years of independence of Uzbekistan, the enterprise has been developing dynamically, increasing its capacity every year. On March 5, 2022, the JSC " Uzmetkombinat " turned 78 years old.

In 1994, the Uzbek metallurgical plant as a result of its Association with Shirin machine-building plant and self-management of enterprises "Vtorchermet", was transformed into an open joint stock company "Uzbek Metallurgical Plant" in accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On establishment of joint stock company "Uzbek Metallurgical Plant", dated from 24th of March 1994, No. 159.

The plant is the basic industry and is in close relationship with all other enterprises, therefore the development of ferrous metallurgy in the Republic of Uzbekistan is a priority national task of the current stage of economic development.

Continuous reconstruction, technical re-equipment and modernization of production make it possible to produce high-quality competitive products that are supplied to industrial enterprises and the development of the construction industry of the Republic and are also shipped for export.

All products of the plant have certificates of conformity, quality management systems are certified in the National and International Certification System.

The plant actively develops cooperative ties with other enterprises of the Republic, as well as with small businesses and private entrepreneurship, creates new jobs, makes a significant contribution to the development of the social infrastructure of the city of Bekabad and the Bekabad district.

The plant in its structure has:

- Steel melting shop.

- Rolling mill shop.

- Production of non-ferrous metals;

- Production of thermal insulation materials;

- Production of consumer goods;

- Kopry shop;

- Branches of the management of "Ikkilamchikorametallar" JSC "Uzmetkombinat";

- Workshop for the production of ferroalloys;

The plant produces:

- Rolled ferrous metals (including grinding balls) of various sizes;

- rolled products from copper and its alloys (different assortment);

- basalt slabs, mats and cotton wool;

- metal products (wire, electrodes, building nails, woven steel mesh, enameled household utensils 46 items more

282 species);

- ferrosilicon and ferrosilicomargenz;

Non-metallurgical products:

- nitrogen, argon, oxygen;

- load-gripping electromagnets M42, M62, with a carrying capacity of 16 tons and 25 tons;

- flux welding brand AN-348.

The objectives and aims of Uzmetkombinat JSC:

- first, the implementation of a single, well-thought-out technical policy for the modernization and diversification of production, the introduction of modern energy-saving technologies and equipment, and the expansion of the raw material base of society;

- secondly, the implementation of structural transformations in the management system of the company, aimed at ensuring high rates of production growth, increasing the volume of exports of products with high added value, including through the development of new markets, carrying out targeted work on a systematic basis to reduce the cost of production;

- third, the implementation of an active investment policy that provides for the implementation of major investment projects to expand the resource base, construction and commissioning of new high-tech industries, including through attracting foreign direct investment, with an increase in the efficiency and transparency of the processes for developing design and estimate documentation, as well as organizing their further implementation through the introduction of modern methods of project management;

- fourth, expanding the localization of the production of metallurgical products, components and materials in order to optimize the overall structure

and reducing the volume of imports of goods and services;

- fifth, the organization of advanced training of engineering, technical and managerial personnel, their retraining by strengthening cooperation with higher

and secondary specialized, professional educational and scientific institutions;

- sixth, strengthening the human resource potential of the society by carrying out targeted work to attract motivated in achieving a high level of professionalism, gifted, honest and patriotic young professionals who are able to ensure the efficient operation of the society in a highly competitive environment.
